LANTERN - Nautical - Starboard Navagation - frac; quot; Bra
Refurbished early s Brass Starboard Navigation Lantern. Based on the design craftsmanship and materials used it appears to have been made by the Perkins Marine Lamp amp Hardware Corp but the PERKO tag is not attached. Lanterns of this type were usually mounted on right side of the pilothouse and lighted while underway at night. This lantern measures tall x wide x deep and weighs pounds. It has a x blue dioptric (ribbed) lens which has a barely visible veticle crack just off center but the glass is not broken and should not be a problem. The lens was originally green but has turned blue due to the manganese glass curing agent used prior to . Also at sometime in the past a volt light fixture with power cord and in-line switch has been added. This nautical artifact has seen exded sea duty and is a prime example of U.S. maritime history.
